Weekly therapy for body, mind and soul
Angela is a kind and gentle instructor who makes each student feel as though they have her undivided attention. Her Yin classes are calming, restorative and inspirational. I never wanted to miss one of Angela’s classes and thought of them as weekly therapy for body, mind and soul. She is simply a lovely human being.
Relief from fibromyalgia
I had tried several different kinds of yoga with limited success, but once I tried Yin Yoga with Angela I was hooked. I have fibromyalgia, and it has really helped with my symptoms far beyond what I ever expected. She is an excellent teacher, and I highly recommend her.
Coping strategies to relax and release stress
Working with Angela was great! I worked with Angela after the birth of my first child. She helped me with coping strategies to relax and release stress, and to help me return to healthy eating and my pre-pregnancy weight.
She had a very holistic gradual approach that I found very supportive. I learned a lot about listening to my body and paying attention to how different foods made me feel. Working with her really helped me make positive change in my life.
A life-altering and influential experience of intentional healing
I’m a firm believer in the divine, and that all things really do happen for a reason. I started Yin yoga in the midst of a total life transition where I suddenly lost my 17-year old cat and was having a really hard time dealing with her loss. I found Angela’s class to be a life-altering experience and a practice that was new to me.
My perception of Yoga has always been about drastic poses and stretches, of which I’ve done. But with Yin Yoga, this was more of a gentle embrace, more so of what my mind and body needed desperately. The more I practiced intentional healing and being mindful of my self-care, I started to realize how influential this experience was.
To this day, I still believe that I didn’t find her class, her class found me in my moment of need. And I believe that anything you request of the Universe it will surely show you in full form to guide you through life. I intentionally still practice yin yoga because it helps me find my center and continues to give me balance and ease on a daily basis. I cannot express my gratitude and how thankful I am for Angela and her teachings; it was truly meant to be.
I got to know Angela through a month-long nutrition class I took with her. I was amazed at the scope of topics we covered. She really redefined nutrition for me – it’s not just what you eat, but how you eat with breathing and mindfulness while eating, digestion – not just to loose weight.
I was also able to take Angela’s Yin Yoga classes. She is specially trained in this practice and I learned all the health benefits of this type of yoga. I take many yoga classes, but this method has so many new benefits that I never knew about.
As my respect for Angela grew, I am now a personal client of Angela’s for the past year. I have lost weight, but Angela has also delved into several health issues that I had just learned to live with in the past. Through her functional medicine techniques, she researches solutions in a compassionate and knowledgeable way.
Rejuvenation AND education
Angela was my Yin Yoga instructor for a little over a year. When I first came to her, yoga was brand new to me. I remember walking in the first night of Angela’s class feeling very nervous that I would not fit in or be able to keep up with my classmates. Angela quickly welcomed me by asking my name and introducing herself. She had the room lit with candles and offered me some warm tea…I instantly knew this was exactly where I was supposed to be.
Since that first yin class I have taken other instructors’ classes but what sets Angela apart from others was her ability to make you feel like for that one hour her main goal was to take care of you…whether it was making sure you had all of the right props or the care she took making sure you were 100% comfortable during savasana. After a stressful day, those small gestures and attention to detail made all the difference.
What was also unique was that she incorporated her vast knowledge on wellness and mindfulness into each class, which made them not only rejuvenating but also educational. Angela has the kindest soul and if anyone is considering working with her they will not be disappointed.
The quiet opening of body and spirit
I have had the privilege of being with Angela in her yin yoga classes and her tea ceremonies. I can attest that she is a thoughtful, gentle teacher. Her practice is informed by poetry and philosophy that feed into the quiet opening of body and spirit.
Angela was always well prepared for class, eager to offer accommodations if a position caused discomfort, and happy to share what she knew, whether it be about tea or yoga. I moved away and really missed her classes!
Managing stress and viewing the world differently
I took my first Yin/Nidra class, taught by Angela, not knowing what it was or what to expect. I quickly discovered that Angela’s classes and style provided the tools needed to better manage the variety of stresses in life. Angela is very passionate about this style of yoga and her classes are always very well prepared to ensure an authentic and safe approach.
You can expect her to show up to class with a big smile and a genuine desire to share her knowledge. During class she will use a very calming tone to explain an overall theme while sharing inspirational quotes and ideas. This assists you in “Calming the Monkey Mind” and being present as you explore holding poses for an extended time.
This opportunity to “just be” is very appealing and allows for a break from the screens and social media services that are always demanding our attention. Angela’s classes were definitely impactful to me and changed the way I view the world and interact with people. Give Yin/Nidra a try, you won’t be disappointed!
